Grapevine is native to the Mediterranean and Central Asia. The grapevine is a stem–tendril climbing plant that grows upward. The grape seed extract is made from the crushed seeds of grapevine plants. It contains the chemical proanthocyanidin. This is a phenolic chemical belonging to the larger group of flavonoids and tannins are a subgroup.
