Garlic is an herbaceous, annual, bulbous plant. The garlic plant has a short, woody central stem or a softer pseudostem made up of overlapping leaf sheaths.

Interaction:
Do not take the following medication :

  • Saquinavir interacts with garlic .saquinavir is a medication taken for HIV this interaction decreases the effect of saquinavir.
  • Isoniazid interacts with garlic .it might reduce how much ionized the body absorbs.
  • Medication changed by the liver cytochrome P450 3A4 substrates interact with garlic cause side effects.
  • Medication such as Anticoagulants like Warfarin and Antiplatelet drugs interact with garlic which increases the risk of bleeding and bruising.
  • Antihypertensive drugs interact with garlic that decreases blood pressure.
  • Antidiabetes drugs interact with garlic that lower the blood sugar level.
  • Medication for HIV/AIDS [Protease inhibitor] interact with garlic which decreases its effect.

Dosing:
It is present in various forms such as creams, gels, pastes, and mouthwashes.
In the adults, dose of2400 mg daily for 12 months by mouth.
Garlic extracts are usually standardized by the amount of ampicillin contain ranges from 1.1%to 1.3%.
